Rory Kelly is a filmmaker and professor. He teaches directing at UCLA where he recently received a 2010 Distinguished Teaching Award. As a writer he has collaborated with such talents as Neal Jimenez and Joe Keenan. His first feature, Sleep with Me, premiered as an Official Selection at Cannes in 1994 and was distributed by MGM/UA. His second feature, Some Girl, garnered him the best Director Award at the 1998 Los Angeles Film Festival. His most recent short, The Women, premiered in 2006 at the Long Island Film Festival. That same year he was co-executive producer on Sucks Less with Kevin Smith for mtvU. He is at work on two feature-length fiction films, including The End of Something. He is also currently writing two books: The Concise Production Handbook and Story and Performance: An Introduction for Directing and Writing Students.
